David Kissinger Replies to "On My Mind" Article

Some weeks ago I published an article on the Kissingers. I also quoted a long letter I had written to Henry Kissinger's son David, in which I related to him my memories of his strictly Orthodox great-grandfather, David. I sent my article to him, and this time he responded promptly.

Dear Dr. Lehmann,

Many thanks for your wonderful letter. I was profoundly moved to learn more about my namesake, and appreciate your taking time to write. I do apologize for the tardiness of my reply, however, I just received your letter upon return from my honeymoon two weeks ago. I will someday show your letter to my own grandchildren to teach them about their fine forbears.

It is good to know that the "On My Mind" article helped transmit a message from pre-War Fuerth, the great Orthodox community in Bavaria, to 1992 U.S.A. - from the elder David Kissinger, to his great-grandson, David Kissinger. And he evidently intends to further carry on this message for another two generations…
